RISKY REFINED SUGAR

Excess of anything is dangerous. Indian preparations usually have sugar as a main ingredient for making delicious dishes. The sugar we use in daily life is refined. Bone char is often used in the sugar refining industry for decolorizing (brown to crystal white). Bone char is made by heating the bones of animals at very high temperatures. Refined sugar is a poison because it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals. What is left consists of pure, refined carbohydrates. The body cannot utilize this refined starch and carbohydrate unless the depleted proteins, vitamins and minerals are present. Nature supplies these elements in each plant in quantities sufficient to metabolize the carbohydrate in that particular plant. There is no excess for other added carbohydrates. Incomplete carbohydrate metabolism results in the formation of 'toxic metabolite' such as pyruvic acid and abnormal sugars containing five carbon atoms. Refined sugar is lethal when ingested by humans because it provides only that which nutritionists describe as "empty" or "naked" calories. It lacks the natural minerals which are present in the sugar beet or cane.

Reasons to Avoid Sugar
Surely sugar tastes good, when you are used to eating diet that is high in processed foods. But once you start eating the sour-tasting fermented foods, you lose your cravings for sugar...and you are on your way to natural energy and greater health!

Here some of the dangers of consuming sugar:
  • Sugar upsets the mineral relationships in the body.
  • Sugar can produce a significant rise in triglycerides.
  • Sugar causes a loss of tissue elasticity and function, the more sugar you eat the more elasticity and function you lose.
  • Sugar can increase fasting levels of glucose.
  • Sugar raises the level of neurotransmitters: dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine.
  • Sugar can produce an acidic digestive tract.
  • Sugar mal-absorption is frequent in patients with functional bowel disease.
  • Sugar can cause premature aging.
  • Sugar greatly assists the uncontrolled growth of Candida albicans (yeast infections).
  • Sugar contributes to saliva acidity.
  • Sugar can cause a decrease in insulin sensitivity.
  • Sugar can lower the amount of Vitamin E (alpha-Tocopherol) in the blood.
  • Sugar can cause drowsiness and decreased activity in children.
  • Sugar can interfere with the absorption of protein.
  • Sugar can contribute to eczema in children.
  • Sugar can make our skin age by changing the structure of collagen.
  • High sugar intake can impair the physiological homeostasis of many systems in the body.
  • Sugar is enemy #1 of the bowel movement.
  • Sugar slows food's travel time through the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Sugar adversely affects urinary electrolyte composition.
  • Sugar can increase the amount of food that you eat by activating hunger hormone called “Ghrelin”.
  • Sugar induces salt and water retention.
  • The higher the sugar consumption the more chances of getting irritable bowel syndrome.
Sugar can cause more deleterious effects than listed here as human comprehension is limited!
